Pookie’em

Through joy and woe, your soul she knows. Does not matter where your life may go, through your veins she flows.
She hustles to get paid, but she’ ain’t for sale, still you think she’s for play, but she’ll never tell.
Pookie never hesitates, Pookie never deviates, Pookie never carries hate, Pookie is imaginative.

Pookie might clown you, when you’re not around. But push come to shove, Pookie is always down.
Pookie got game you’ve never seen, her skin is almond cream, her love, is like mad steam, her life is nothing like it seems.
Pookie never hesitates, Pookie never deviates, Pookie never carries hate, Pookie is sometimes….. late.

She ain’t done half the stuff folks claim, but she’s been a quiet witness through tinted panes, to streets flowing in pain, and lyrics rich in crimson stain.
She chases light, but runs in the shadows. She holds her Bible tight, but is quick to spit a wicked flow.
Pookie never hesitates, Pookie never deviates, Pookie never carries hate, Pookie is always great, even if, you can’t relate.

Pookie drops verses like mad men drop curses. She doesn’t choose the words, they choose her.
And in case you hadn’t heard, she thinks all your thoughts are absurd, doesn’t say these things to disturb, she just reports, what she observes.
Pookie never hesitates, Pookie never deviates, Pookie never carries hate, Pookie embraces fate.

Signs and Wonders

Waiting on a moment,

Can take an eternity.

All around us, all within us,

signs and wonders bind us.

Charting one’s stars,

Offers little earthly guidence.

All around us, all within us,

signs and wonders sing to us.

Why search for a heaven,

which is already here?

All around us, all within us,

signs and wonders dance with us.

The Relationship Ten Commandments for Women

PSA: Print and post this in your car on the back side of your sun visor.

1) How he treats others is how he will someday treat you.

2) The secret lies not in what you attract, but rather in what you let in.

3) Just because he likes you, doesn’t mean he’s trying to get with you

and just because he’s trying to get with you, doesn’t mean he likes you. Sorry.

4) Better to entertain the doubts of a wise friend, than the certainty of a fool. Listen now, or cry later.

5) Given enough time, every player will eventually play himself. It’s like a cosmic law or something.

6) A man who can be bought is not worth a dime, but a man who can’t, is priceless.

7) You can’t change a man. What don’t you understand about that?

8) Respect his mama, no matter how you feel.

9) If he won’t work hard for himself, why would he do so for you? Seriously, why?

10) You get what you advertise for.

In summation: The best man is the one that puts God first, you second and himself last. Most will see this statement as preachy, but some will understand the importance of having an internal compass rather than an external one.

Focus

Focus is the refinement of Then

into the here and now.

It is simple,

and yet seldom mastered.

Tomorrow is an untamed and unknown giant

wreaking havoc on today, but only as we allow it.

Our actions today, are the chains which bind tomorrow.

Thus place your heart in the future,

but your eyes on the present,

and your worries in the past.

Focus.

Flow

Relax, don’t force it.

Let it come to you.

Be patient, yet persistent.

Be open.

Flow.

Allow the current to carry you along in a waking dream,

where your perspective is pliable and you conclusions unformed.

In this alternative reality, removed from your five senses, everything is possible.

Only in this void can you feel the true weight of things.

Marginalized

You want to marginalize me, Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal.

You try to limit me by the color of my skin, be it pale or brown or somewhere in between.

These labels that ease your world, imprison mine.

To objectify me, allows you to disengage or to stoke an unspoken rage.

And what if…

What if you could just let me be? What if we all could just wait and see?

What if we could move beyond this ancient need to know,

This primeval need to pre-judge, friend or foe?

What then…

Would the things be different, if I opened my heart and let you in?

What if I made a commitment, to share the love I’ve been given?

What then…

If you should forget the lies you’ve been given, would the world end?

If we should remember the truth we should be living, what might begin?
